UNDERSTANDING ENDORSEMENTS AND GRADUATION PLANS:
Fort Worth ISD offers three (3) graduation plans:
The Distinguished Level of Achievement (DLA) designation upon graduation must be earned in order to be eligible for top 10 percent automatic admission to a public Texas university. In order to earn a DLA designation, a student must successfully complete four math credits, including Algebra II; four science credits and an endorsement requirement.

Proper Etiquette for Requesting a Letter of Recommendation:
When requesting a letter to be written on your behalf, you should pay close attention to the checklist below. The request must be provided to your recommender 10 school days prior to the deadline.

- Essay(s) you submitted/are about to submit with the application
- Name of the college/university/scholarship you are applying to and the degree you are applying for at this institution (if applicable)
- 2 adjectives that describe you and why those adjectives describe you
- A paragraph of support providing details that are not included within your college application, essay, or your resume (any obstacles you have faced, any particular family dynamics to be considered, etc.)
- The general career or area of study you are interested in pursuing and why you are interested in it. List any experience, interests, skills and/or talents you possess that would make you a good fit for this career. It is okay if it is only an initial plan. This is just to give your recommender more info about you.
